Paul Scholes believes the match against Sevilla showcases exactly why the club needs to buy Jadon Sancho.
The legendary midfielder had this to say about it in an interview to BT Sport: “We talk about quality, we talk about spending money on a centre forward and wide players.
“We talk about hundreds of millions these days to get these players, but these are the players that win you trophies. These are the ones that win you medals.”
He further added: “If they want to win trophies, they’ve got to start spending the money.
“They created chances tonight but if you think of Sancho in that team tonight I think United are scoring.”
These comments come after United’s semi-finals loss to Sevilla in the UEFA Europa League.
The Reds were guilty of missing many guilt-edged chances in the match, all thanks to Sevilla’s keeper Bono.
Sancho has been Manchester United’s top priority in the transfer market this season. Solksjaer identifies the winger as a must-have player for his team.
The deal to sign the winger has gone haywire with the English club refusing to pay Borussia Dortmund’s valuation of €120 million for the English forward.
Paul Scholes firmly believes that Manchester United should do whatever it takes to sign the Dortmund star, a sentiment echoed in recent weeks by scores of club fans alike.
The important question is, will the club listen to its former midfielder and do what it takes to sign the player?
