Paul Pogba set to be dropped for Sevilla clash

Paul Pogba is not expected to be in the Manchester United starting lineup for our Champions League second round first leg at Sevilla this evening.

The BBC believe that Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Scott McTominay will start in midfield in a 4-3-3 formation.

Pogba did not feature in our 2-0 win at Huddersfield Town in the FA Cup fifth round on Saturday either.

Our record signing missed that game through illness after being substituted during our 1-0 defeat at Newcastle United in the game before having looked injured from the start.

However, Jose Mourinho suggested the French star was fully fit after Pogba trained as usual this week, saying:

“When a player is in a competitive [training] session it is normally because they are ready without problems.”

Our starting lineup for this evening’s clash at the Roman Sanchez Pizjuan stadium is set to be announced within the next 30-45 minutes.

Paul Pogba has come under a lot of criticism from the media in recent weeks but one can forgive his performance versus Newcastle as he was clearly not fully fit.
