Paul Pogba injured for Man Utd – could be out for weeks

Paul Pogba has been substituted due to injury in the opening 20 minutes of Manchester United’s opening 2017-18 Champions League group stage match with FC Basel this evening.

The French international pulled up with what appeared to be a hamstring injury in his left leg in the first half.

Marouane Fellaini replaced Pogba to join Nemanja Matic in the centre of midfield in our 4-2-3-1 formation.

The 24-year-old had been handed the captain’s armband for the first time in a competitive Manchester United game but unfortunately it has ended in misery.

Should Pogba’s injury be confirmed as a hamstring we can expect our flamboyant midfielder to be sidelined for a fair few weeks.

The score is currently 0-0 between the two teams at Old Trafford but we’re well on top with a goal seemingly inevitable.  Basel have been camped in their own half whilst Henrikh Mkhitaryan has missed the best opportunity in the opening 20 minutes.

More news as we get it.
