Patrick Dorgu wins Goal of the Season award at Man United after stunning Arsenal screamer

Manchester United have confirmed that Patrick Dorgu has won the club’s Goal of the Season award for the 2025-26 campaign.

Dorgu stunned everyone with his sensational goal against Arsenal in the 3-2 win in January.

The contest was delicately poised at 1-1 before Dorgu and Bruno Fernandes combined brilliantly with quick exchanges around the edge of the box.

The 21-year-old then unleashed a stunning left-footed strike that rattled the crossbar before bouncing over the line.

It was a breathtaking moment from a player who had previously been thrown under the bus in a press conference by his former manager.

Dorgu was originally signed as a left wing-back, but United increasingly appear to view him as a far more advanced attacking weapon.

He may not be the best solution to the attacking woes but his qualities are becoming impossible to ignore.

The Dane thrives in physical duels, attacks defenders fearlessly and possesses the stamina to charge relentlessly up and down the flank.

There is absolutely no doubt that Dorgu fully deserved to win this prestigious individual accolade.

Matheus Cunha finished second in the voting following his stunning match-winning strike against Arsenal.

Third place went to Fernandes for his brilliant free-kick goal against Bournemouth.

Dorgu will have a big role to play for United next season, especially if the Red Devils do not sign a new winger in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Amad Diallo, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes are the previous five winners of the award.
