Paris Saint-Germain set their sights on signing Man Utd target Goncalo Inacio

Paris Saint-Germain have joined the race to sign Manchester United target Goncalo Inacio this summer, according to Portuguese publication O Jogo (page 12)

The 21-year-old is regarded as one of the best young centre-backs in Portuguese football and it has been reported that United are closely monitoring his performances.

However, they are not alone in the player’s pursuit and O Jogo today claim that Paris Saint-Germain are also weighing up an approach for the young defender.

Inacio currently has a low release clause of €45 million in his contract and Sporting are trying to hand him a new deal to increase the buy-out figure to around €60m.

United must prise away Inacio ahead of Les Parisiens

The Red Devils could bolster their squad with a new centre-back this summer with the possibility of either Harry Maguire or Victor Lindelof heading for the exit door.

A left-footed option could be prioritised to provide competition to Lisandro Martinez. Inacio would be a brilliant signing. He would be a bargain in today’s transfer market.

The Portuguese is still in the early phase of his playing career but he has been superb with his distribution. He has completed over 90 per cent of his passes this term.

The youngster has also registered 1.2 tackles, 1.3 interceptions and over two clearances per game. He is also strong in the air and has won 63 per cent of his aerial duels.

In our opinion, he would be a top-class recruit for the Red Devils, but they may need to move quickly to seal the deal, particularly if Les Parisiens are serious over an approach.

Inacio, who has been described as ‘amazing‘ by Fabrizio Romano, has already rejected a move to Newcastle United as he prefers to join a ‘top European club‘ this summer.
