Paris-Saint Germain are plotting a move for Manchester United star Paul Pogba in the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman has just one year left on his deal with the Red Devils.
He admitted that the club are yet to approach him with a concrete contract proposal.
According to The Express, PSG are eyeing a summer swoop for the 2018 World Cup winner.
The Ligue 1 club have already acquired the services of Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer.
They are hoping to sign Pogba who will partner Wijnaldum in a new-look midfield.
The 28-year old has been a key member of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team since the turn of the year.
He has been deployed on either flank which has allowed him to attack more freely.
Playing in a double pivot in a 4-2-3-1 formation forces Pogba to concentrate on the defensive side of the game.
For the last four seasons, the Red Devils haven’t won a trophy.
The onus is on the manager to build a team to mount a title challenge next campaign.
Allowing one of the key members of the first team to leave would decrease the squad’s quality.
Solskjaer has already expressed his desire to sign new players who can bolster the squad.
On that basis, allowing a player of Pogba’s quality to leave makes little sense.
However, United cannot afford to allow Pogba to leave the club for free for a second time.
If he declines to extend his contract this summer, the club must sell him and recoup some funds.
