Pep Guardiola will be bringing a near fully-fit squad to Old Trafford this evening when Manchester United host Premier League leaders Manchester City.
The Citizens no longer have Champions League football to worry about as they were eliminated by Tottenham Hotspur a week ago today, meaning the Spanish manager can fully concentrate on winning his final five domestic games of this campaign which would bring them the Premier League and FA Cup trophies.
However, Guardiola will be without talisman Kevin De Bruyne pulling the strings in the centre of midfield this evening as it has been revealed that the Belgian picked up a muscle injury during their 1-0 win over Tottenham in the league on Saturday. The Manchester City official website has confirmed that the rest of the squad is available to the manager.
Sergio Aguero has an excellent goalscoring record against us and is expected to start against us once again this evening, alongside the in-form Raheem Sterling. Either Bernardo Silva or Leroy Sane will likely complete their front three.
Manchester City have an interesting choice to make at centre-back as Aymeric Laporte and John Stones have been shaky of late, though Vincent Kompany has been no better. Dare they risk Nicolas Otamendi this evening? This is one position we really need to look to get at the visitors.
Without De Bruyne in midfield, City could go with either Ilkay Gundogan or teenager Phil Foden to partner Fernandinho and David Silva in a central midfield trio.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has not been so lucky on the injury front with Ander Herrera, Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Antonio Valencia all sidelined.
