The match will be played on Thursday evening as one of the first eight games of the day.
Match Preview
Omonia Nicosia
The hosts endured a sluggish start to their season, kicking off with a 2-0 defeat to Apollon Limassol in the Cypriot Super Cup.
Their defeat to Sociedad last month marked a third straight loss, but they have bounced back to win their last two games.
Defeat to United this week could spell danger for their continental ambitions and they will be looking to avoid that.
The Cyprus outfit will be without midfielder Moreto Cassama on Thursday as the former Reims man is out with an injury.
Manchester United
After opening their campaign with consecutive defeats, United went on a four-game winning streak that included victories over Liverpool and Arsenal.
They then found themselves on the wrong end of results once again, losing to Sociedad in their first group stage game before beating Sheriff in their second.
United’s return to action after the international break was gruesome as they were thrashed by their city rivals in the derby on Sunday.
Anthony Martial’s return was perhaps the only positive from the weekend’s horror show and the Frenchman could be handed a start. However, Raphael Varane is out with an injury.
Players to watch – Bruno vs Shaw
Both managers are looking to get a foothold in the group and will undoubtedly field a strong XI this week.
Bruno is enjoying a good run of form at the moment, scoring in his last four matches for Omonia, and will now be looking to continue that streak against one of Europe’s big clubs.
Luke Shaw has fallen down the order at United but came off the bench to replace Tyrell Malacia at half-time last time out.
The Englishman is keen to regain his starting spot at United ahead of the upcoming World Cup and will have a chance to impress this Thursday.
