Omari Forson set for full Premier League debut after Rasmus Hojlund injury blow

Manchester United graduate Omari Forson is set to make his full Premier League debut during Saturday’s Premier League clash against Fulham at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils confirmed a huge injury blow earlier today with Rasmus Hojlund ruled out for the next two to three weeks with a muscular problem.

United have a huge void to fill up front and it appears manager Erik ten Hag has a surprise plan in store. Forson is set for his maiden start for the club.

Considering experience, Antony would normally be the immediate back-up for the front three. Amad Diallo is another player who is waiting for his chance.

However, Forson has got the preference over the duo, according to Academy Scoop.

Forson could lead the attack versus Fulham

The 19-year-old has made three cameo appearances for the Red Devils in his career. All of them have come during the ongoing campaign.

Forson most recently featured in the thrilling 4-3 win against Wolverhampton Wanderers where he played up front after replacing Rasmus Hojlund.

The youngster registered the assist for Kobbie Mainoo’s sensational late winner.

The 19-year-old has only shown glimpses of his potential but starting him over Antony and Diallo shows a huge vote of confidence from Ten Hag.

With Rashford most comfortable from the left wing, Forson looks likely to lead the line.

Meanwhile, the youngster’s current contract with the club expires at the end of June and he has not agreed terms over a potential extension.

Handing him playing time in such an important game for United could be Ten Hag’s way of persuading the young forward to prolong his stay.
