Ole hints 2 teenagers could face Chelsea in FA Cup

Manchester United travel to Stamford Bridge on Monday night to take on Chelsea in the fifth round of this season’s FA Cup.

The Blues were hammered 6-0 at Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend before bouncing back with a 2-1 win at Malmo in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Our 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday saw us leapfrog Chelsea into fourth spot in the Premier League.

Caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken to the media today at his pre-match press conference and given a team news and injury update.

The Norwegian expects both Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard to be out for 2-3 weeks after both forwards picked up injuries in the first half of our 0-2 defeat at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League midweek.

In their absence, both Alexis Sanchez and Juan Mata are available down the wings whilst Marcus Rashford also has experience of playing out wide.

However, Ole hinted that teenagers Angel Gomes and Tahith Chong could feature against Chelsea as both players have been involved in first team training this week.

Gomes became the first player born this millennium to feature in the Premier League whilst Chong has featured in the previous rounds of this season’s FA Cup. Both players have a bright future in the game.

Ole told MUTV:

“Angel [Gomes] and Chongy [Tahith Chong] have been training with us, and they have been doing well, so they might be involved in that game.”
