Ole had this to say about Bruno Fernandes after Brighton win

Bruno Fernandes scored twice as Manchester United ran out 3-0 winners away to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday night.

Victory has moved us to within two points of Chelsea in fourth and three points of Leicester City above them, with both teams playing their game in hand today.

Mason Greenwood opened the scoring after 15 minutes at the AMEX Stadium on Tuesday, before a goal in each half from our Portuguese superstar ended the tie.

Speaking after the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had the following to say about Bruno to MUTV:

“I knew there was a leader there, a winner and we knew we needed that type of player.

“Fair play and well done to the club for making the deal happen. It was hard because of course you [Sporting Lisbon] don’t want to sell your best player and he’s come in and been fantastic.

“His second goal was good defending on a set-play and we know we’ve got pace and we wanted to counter quickly. It was a great pass by Nemanja, a great cross from Mason and fantastically finished by Bruno so I’m very, very happy with all the goals.”

Bruno Fernandes has now been involved in eight goals in his first eight Premier League appearances since joining from Sporting Club of Lisbon at the end of January, scoring five goals and assisting three more.

We are unbeaten in all eight of those matches, winning five, compared to losing three of our last four Premier League matches immediately before his arrival.

The 25-year-old’s arrival has seen many of our players perform better too, with excellent performances from Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba and Mason Greenwood, among others on the south coast.

Manchester United are also scheduled to face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals later this month. Our next Premier League game is at home to Bournemouth on Saturday.
