Manchester United boss Ole Gunner Solksjaer has confirmed that no player is on the injury table and the team is looking forward to a revisit to the Amex Stadium after a 3-2 win over the Seagulls in the weekend.
United have a busy few days as they face Spurs in the Premier League this weekend. As a result, Ole has expressed his desire to make changes to the squad- a similar approach adopted in the previous round against Luton Town.
When asked if the two teams are going to field a different line-up, the boss told MUTV:
“I’m not sure. Every game lives its own life and, of course, at the stage, we’re at in the season with all the games coming up, I think teams are making changes. You can see teams have a cup team and a league team and we’ll make changes. It’ll be very similar to what happened last week against Luton.”
Ole Gunner Solksjaer is looking to give some valuable game-time to the fringe players in the Cup tie against Brighton as he looks to build the squad for the upcoming long season and reward the players for their hard work in training.
Goalkeeper Dean Henderson who made his debut for Manchester United in the previous game against Luton Town is expected to start the game. Ajax recruit Donny Van de Beek is also in line to make his second start for the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, the likes of Eric Bailly, Brandon Williams, Fred, Jesse Lingard, Odion Ighalo, and Juan Mata, who all started in the 3-0 win against Luton, are expected to get game-time against Graham Potter’s side.
If Manchester United manage a second win in as many matches against Brighton, this season, they will progress into the Quarter Final stage of the competition. However, the game will not be as easy as other games in the Cup.
Manchester United face an inspired Brighton side that will give tough competition to the Red Devils, just as the case was last weekend in the Premier League.
