Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an injury update ahead of the club’s Europa League round clash against Club Brugge on Thursday night.
The Red Devils only managed a 1-1 draw during the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 clash in Bruges but they still have the crucial away-goal advantage.
Speaking ahead of Thursday’s game, Solskjaer confirmed that there are no fresh injury setbacks to report but confirmed that the likes of Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are making good progress.
Tuanzebe and Mensah have recovered from their respective thigh and knee injuries and they are expected to feature in a couple of reserve games in order to boost their fitness levels.
“[Axel and Tim] are getting close to a Reserves match or a behind-closed-doors match. Wneed them to play in that kind of game before we use them in the first team.” Solskjaer said.
Meanwhile, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Lee Grant are the long-term absentees but the former could make his comeback next month, given he has already started with in-door strength training.
Solskjaer made a few changes in the attack during the away leg against Brugge last week and that definitely limited the scoring threat on the opposition goal.
The Norwegian should go with a much stronger XI for Thursday’s game and the trio of Daniel James, Bruno Fernandes and Mason Greenwood could accompany Anthony Martial in the attack.
