Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals how Bruno Fernandes could feature against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that new signing Bruno Fernandes will definitely be involved during the upcoming Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Fernandes officially put pen-to-paper on a five-and-a-half year deal with United on Thursday after they finalised a transfer agreement with Sporting following weeks of transfer negotiations.

The Portuguese has already taken part in his first training session with the club and speaking ahead of Saturday’s game, Solskjaer has confirmed that the playmaker will surely make his Premier League debut.

However, the Norwegian manager refused to confirm whether the 25-year-old will make the starting lineup, considering the hectic activity in the lead up to him joining the club.

“He’s fit enough to play and he’ll be involved definitely. He’ll be in the squad. He’s had of course a few hectic days now and even with his little daughter’s three-year birthday yesterday, so I don’t know how much he will be involved, but he’s in the squad,” he was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

United are expected to be without the services of Nemanja Matic for the Wolves game following the midfielder’s sending off during the second leg of the League Cup semi-final at Manchester City in midweek.

In the Serbian’s absence, Andreas Pereira seems the likely candidate to accompany Fred in the centre of the park with Paul Pogba and Scott McTominay still recovering after their respective injuries.

Fernandes can, of course, take up the central midfield role but Solskjaer may prefer to play him in the number 10 position, where the Portuguese can create more goalscoring chances for his teammates and himself.

United and Wolves have already met three times during the current campaign. The most recent meeting came during the FA Cup third round replay where United won by the solitary goal scored by Juan Mata.
