Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that there could be possible incomings and outgoings at the club before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.
The Red Devils have made no signings since the start of the January transfer window and with just another eight days left, they are yet to finalise a deal for any of their winter targets.
Amidst this, the club have picked up only three points from the past four Premier League matches and they have been unable to close the gap to fourth-placed Chelsea.
United suffered a surprise 2-0 loss to Burnley at Old Trafford on Wednesday night and shortly after the game, Solskjaer hinted that the club are looking to improve the squad before the transfer deadline.
The Norwegian added that a clear-out is also in the process which could mean that the likes of Marcos Rojo and Jesse Lingard may head through the exit door before February 1.
“We are looking to improve, we have got our targets. This is our second defeat at home and first since August. I thought we had turned that corner. We have started a clear-out and now I am going to be answering these questions until it [transfer window] closes. We are working on things,” he told BT Sport, as relayed by Goal.com.
United appeared to have turned the corner after back-to-back victories over Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City in early December but they have since struggled with just three wins coming from the next eight Premier League games.
This has contributed towards their inability to close the deficit to the Champions League spots and they are currently six points adrift of fourth-placed Chelsea. The Red Devils will face one of Tranmere Rovers or Watford on the road in the FA Cup fourth round this weekend.
