Well-informed industry sources have told The Athletic that an approach to Mauricio Pochettino could be made if things stay the same on the pitch.
This is not good news for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his team. However, the same report by The Athletic understands that the board backs Ole and denies any talks with Mauricio Pochettino who was previously linked to replace Ole.
This could be confusing – so to sum it up:
Ole has the job right now. The board backs him and haven’t contacted Pochettino. But, if results don’t improve, United will approach Pochettino.
United faced heavy criticism when they lost 1-6 to Spurs at Old Trafford. They had previously lost 1-3 to Crystal Palace too. In the 3-2 win against Brighton. United’s performance was average. They’ve dropped six points in the first three games.
Things didn’t look good in the transfer market too. United failed to sign their top targets – Nathan Ake, Dayot Upamecano, Jadon Sancho, and Jack Grealish.
A right-winger was desperately needed – but Ole’s demands were not fulfilled. It’s not entirely OGS’ fault if United underperform.
