Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Dylan Levitt, Ethan Laird, Di’Shon Bernard are in line to make their debuts from the starting lineup against Astana.
The Norwegian has chosen a young-looking squad for the Europa League trip to Kazakhstan and that includes 14 teenagers with a few of them aiming to get their first taste of first-team action.
In a press conference ahead of the game, Solskjaer was asked about potential debuts for the club graduates and he highlighted that Levitt, Laird and Bernard will get the nod for the starting XI.
“You’re gonna see Ethan Laird, Dishon Bernard and Dylan Levitt from the start and the substitutes that come on, that’ll be their debuts, so you’ll see a few,” he told via The Manchester Evening News.
Despite the talk of youngsters, Solskjaer is likely to pick a team with youth and experience, and he has already confirmed that veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant will earn his maiden start for the club.
Aside from him, Luke Shaw, Axel Tuanzebe and Jesse Lingard are the only other experienced players in the travelling squad and the trio are expected to start in tomorrow’s evening kick-off.
Elsewhere, the likes of Tahith Chong and Angel Gomes have another opportunity to impress the manager and stake a claim for a first-team spot while Mason Greenwood will be aiming to continue from where he left off.
Greenwood has already netted four goals for the Red Devils this term and he bagged his maiden league goal over the weekend where he came off the bench to score in a 3-3 draw against Sheffield United.
