Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confirms injury blow for two players ahead of Derby County clash: report

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that both Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are likely to miss out on Thursday’s FA Cup fifth round tie against Derby County on the road.

James was unavailable for the league clash at Everton last weekend after a knock picked up against Club Brugge, and Solskjaer has now revealed that the Welshman won’t make the matchday squad for the Cup game.

Meanwhile, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is another fresh injury concern for the manager. The England youth international sustained a back problem during the 1-1 draw at Goodison Park and Solskjaer has hinted that the right-back may not feature at Pride Park on Thursday night.

“Yeah [James will] probably miss out on this one as well and Marcus and Paul are still out and I think Aaron might be struggling. He’s got a test today, but he struggled in our last game against Everton with his back, so he might be out,” he told.

Apart from the duo, Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Lee Grant are the other players, who are definitely ruled out for the midweek Cup tie. Pogba and Rashford have been out of action due to an ankle surgery and a back injury respectively but the former is expected to return to training next week.

Meanwhile, Lee Grant recently underwent an operation for an undefined injury. The Red Devils have confirmed that the experienced shot-stopper will remain on the sidelines for around two or three months, which may potentially rule him out for the season.

Manchester United are definitely the favourites for the forthcoming Cup tie at Derby County. The game will see former club captain and all-time goalscorer Wayne Rooney playing for the opposition. A victory at Pride Park would assure United with an away quarter-final against Norwich City.
