Ole gives injury update on Victor Lindelof

Victor Lindelof left the field at half-time to be replaced by Eric Bailly at the beginning of the second half in Manchester United’s 5-2 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Swede has started all four of our Premier League matches since the restart.

There had been no mention of an injury in commentary and with the score 3-1 at the time, it was easy to think that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was giving a run out to Eric Bailly.

Speaking after Saturday’s comfortable win, the boss gave MUTV an injury update on Victor Lindelof, saying:

“He [Lindelof] struggled today with his back so, hopefully, he won’t be too bad.”

We are next in action away to Aston Villa on Thursday.

Aston Villa have taken just two points from their four Premier League games since the restart and are away to Liverpool later today. Ole Gunnar Solksjaer could have the luxury of rotating a few players given the lack of form from the opponents.

Victories for Leicester City and Chelsea on Saturday means we remain fifth with five games to go, two and three points behind the two sides directly above us, in the Champions League places.

With Axel Tuanzebe out for the remainder of the season and Phil Jones currently injured, any lengthy absence for Victor Lindelof would be a blow with two games every week between now and the end of July.
