Manchester United were pegged back in the 96th minute to draw 2-2 against Southampton at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The equaliser came shortly after we went down to 10 men following Brandon Williams’ nasty looking head collision with Kyle Walker-Peters.
Williams himself had only replaced an injured Luke Shaw less than 20 minutes beforehand.
Goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial had given us a 2-1 half-time lead after falling behind to Stuart Armstrong’s early opener for the visitors.
Speaking after the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave an update on our two left-backs. He told MUTV:
On Luke Shaw:
“Luke twisted his ankle. Hopefully, we can have some good news on him after we’ve done a scan.”
On Brandon Williams:
“I can’t say [really], I’ve not seen Brandon because he was with the medical staff and I think he was getting some stitches with a gash over his eye.
“So let’s see how he is.”
Manchester United only have a couple of days’ rest before we travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Thursday and then face Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-finals on Sunday.
It remains to be seen whether either Luke Shaw or Brandon Williams will be available midweek, or whether the manager will be forced to go with a back three.
