Ole confirms 2 Man Utd injuries ahead of Spurs trip

Manchester United restart our 2019-20 Premier League season away to Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow night.

We head to North London three points outside the Champions League places and four points ahead of Spurs.

Prior to the game, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning. The boss has confirmed that we will be without two players for our first match back.

Defenders Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe will not feature tomorrow the Norwegian manager confirmed. Ole told MUTV:

“Yeah we’ve got a couple of injuries.

“Axel will probably be missing and Phil Jones will be missing. Apart from that I would say everyone else is available for selection.”

The three-month disruption has allowed both Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba to recover from the injuries they had been suffering with when we last played, on 12 March.

When asked if both players would start versus Tottenham, Ole kept his cards close to his chest, saying:

“They’ve been out for a long period but they’re available, let’s see”

Victory in our first match at Tottenham’s new stadium would move us into the top four, at least prior to Chelsea’s trip to Aston Villa on Sunday.

The Premier League restarted on Wednesday with Aston Villa drawing 0-0 with Sheffield United in front of an empty crowd, prior to Manchester City thrashing 10-man Arsenal 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester United’s first game at Old Trafford in front of an empty stadium will be on Wednesday 24 June when we host Sheffield United in the Premier League, five days after we’ve faced Spurs. The Blades will have had only two days’ rest as they are away to Newcastle United on Sunday.
