Maxi Oyedele has reportedly returned to Manchester United early from his loan at Forest Green Rovers (h/t Daily Mail).
The 19-year-old joined the League Two club in January to gain more first-team football experience, but he struggled to impress manager Steve Cotterill.
Oyedele will remain in Manchester. He was pictured in first-team training last week and subsequently started the Premier League 2 match against Derby County last weekend.
The midfielder hasn’t officially been recalled from his loan spell, but he is reportedly not expected to return to Forest Green.
Oyedele moved to the League Two outfit when Troy Deeney was manager. However, the former Watford star was sacked the day after the teenager’s loan transfer.
The 19-year-old made only four appearances – all of them off the bench.
His last appearance saw him substituted on and off against Crawley Town in February.
Oyedele joined United when he was eight and has impressed with his performances at Under-18 and Under-21 level.
He mainly plays as a central midfielder but has also been used as a defensive midfielder.
