Manchester United have delivered a major training-ground update ahead of their Premier League opener against Hull City on Saturday.
The Red Devils will travel to the MKM Stadium for their eagerly anticipated curtain-raiser against Hull.
The club confirmed that Benjamin Sesko was part of the training squad and could be available soon for selection.
Matthijs de Ligt was also part of the group, although the defender is still expected to miss the opening few games as he continues his recovery from a back injury.
De Ligt has not featured since November 30 and underwent back surgery in May.
Mason Mount has missed the last two friendly games and has not taken part in training.
The midfielder suffered a knock against Paris Saint-Germain and was forced off after just 20 minutes.
Head coach Michael Carrick revealed that his substitution was precautionary but his prolonged absence has now raised further concerns.
United viewed the £55 million-rated midfielder as a potential solution in the number eight role after he impressed during pre-season.
However, his latest setback once again highlights why the club cannot afford to rely solely on him in midfield.
Sesko did not feature in a single pre-season fixture as he continued recovering from the shin injury he suffered last season.
Even if the Slovenian striker is declared fit for the weekend, we expect Carrick to stick with Bryan Mbeumo as his first-choice option up front.
Sesko could instead be introduced from the bench in the second half, allowing him to gradually build his match fitness without being thrown straight into the deep end.
