Manchester United have the opportunity to return to winning ways in the Premier League when they entertain Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Red Devils came up with a superb midweek display in the Europa League where they registered a comfortable 3-0 triumph over Partizan and the club’s faithful will be expecting more of the same when the Seagulls visit the Theatre of Dreams.
Predicted Lineup:
David de Gea remains the undisputed starter in goal for the Premier League. He is expected to start against the Seagulls. In the defence, there should be familiar faces with Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire featuring at the heart of the backline while Aaron Wan-Bissaka will definitely start at right-back. However, there will certainly be an enforced change at left-back with Brandon Williams starting in the place of Ashley Young, who is suspended after accumulating five yellow cards in the top-flight.
In the midfield, Scott McTominay and Fred remain Solskjaer’s preferred choices in the absence of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic through injury. McTominay is an injury doubt for the game but the midfielder will most probably feature so long as he is able to pass the late fitness test before the encounter.
Further forward, Daniel James and Marcus Rashford are assured of their spots in the wide attacking positions and the same should be the case with Anthony Martial, who bagged a splendid solo goal during the midweek European clash.
In the number 10 role, Juan Mata should get the pick over Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard. The Spaniard was impressive against Partizan, where he found some clever pockets of space and he is capable of providing the key pass for the forwards which has been lacking through Pereira in recent weeks.
