Marcus Rashford only wants Barcelona as Man United face transfer headache

Forward Marcus Rashford is pushing to join Barcelona permanently after his impressive loan spell at the club this season.

Rashford chipped in with eight goals and nine assists, helping Barcelona win the La Liga title for the second consecutive season.

Manager Hansi Flick has urged the club to sign the English forward permanently, contrary to reports that Barcelona have cooled their interest in him.

SPORT now reports that Rashford is ‘willing’ to block any move unless it is to Barcelona, leaving United in a dilemma.

The 28-year-old has already reached a personal agreement with the Spanish giants, which includes a long-term contract.

Described as ‘fantastic‘ by Flick, Rashford is also reportedly being monitored by Arsenal.

Barcelona exploring alternative offer to sign Rashford

Barcelona are not prepared to pay Rashford’s €30 million valuation, while United are also reluctant to reduce their asking price.

The La Liga champions are now exploring another way to sign the versatile forward if they fail to reach an agreement with United.

It is understood that they are planning on signing Rashford on another loan deal but with an obligation to buy at a cheaper price.

Barcelona are optimistic that an agreement will be reached, as such a move would guarantee United a permanent sale in 2027.

Rashford would reportedly agree to the deal, but it now remains to be seen whether United would accept the proposal.

If United accept the offer, his sale would count as pure profit under the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), although the financial gain would only be reflected in their accounts in 2027, when the deal is completed.
