Marcus Rashford absolutely raves about exit-linked Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Marcus Rashford has absolutely raved about Aaron Wan-Bissaka after Manchester United beat Burnley 2-0 in the Carabao Cup last night.

Wan-Bissaka joined United three years ago from Crystal Palace for around £50 million (Independent).

Unfortunately for the 25-year-old, he has failed to live up to expectations at Old Trafford. And his poor form over the past year or so has led to various reports claiming that United boss Erik ten Hag wants to sell him in January (Manchester Evening News).

However, the London-born right-back may have salvaged his United career with his performance against Burnley. He defended with aplomb and bagged an assist after setting up Christian Eriksen for the opening goal.

And his excellent performance really impressed one of his teammates in particular.

Marcus Rashford raves about Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Rashford scored United’s second goal of the match last night.

However, when speaking to reporters after the match, Rashford chose to heap praise upon one of his teammates instead of discussing his own performance, as quoted by Manchester Evening News:

“Yeah, massively important player. We all know about his defensive qualities and, for me, he just needs confidence to be pushed to go forward because when he goes forward he can create goalscoring opportunities for us and today he had no right to get that ball but he got there anyway. It was a great goal and Azza played a massive part.”

We all know just how good Wan-Bissaka can be. Owen Hargreaves once labelled him as ‘unplayable’ (TEAMtalk).

He is out of contract in 2024, but United have the option to extend that deal by a further 12 months. Wan-Bissaka is reportedly a target for numerous Premier League clubs this winter.

But who knows? Following the performance that drew huge praise from Rashford, maybe he does have a future at Old Trafford.
