Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been urged to completed three more signings in the summer transfer window by the former Red Devils defender Paul Parker.
The Premier League giants have already added four new faces, which includes the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Eric Bailly, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba. The latter returned to Old Trafford from Juventus for a world-record transfer fee of £89 million.
The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager earlier admitted that he wanted four specialists in his team and with Pogba’s acquisition, he has completed that. However, Parker believes Mourinho’s side are still needs a central defender, midfielder and a striker in the current transfer window if they have to win the league this season.
“They still need a forward and a centre-half and another midfield player. Manchester United aren’t finished yet; they can’t be because that present squad just isn’t going to win the league and Mourinho is all about winning the league,” Parker told 888Sport.com.
United started the campaign with a 3-1 comfortable victory over AFC Bournemouth last Sunday. Parker believes it is difficult to judge whether his former club will finish in top four this campaign.
“Would you say United can even finish top four after what we saw in the Bournemouth game? I’d have to say not really,” he added.
“Liverpool look good and Arsenal will improve. Tottenham and Chelsea are hard to break down and will be in there.
“So United have some work to do between now and the end of August to bring in at least three players to guarantee a Champions League spot and maybe win the league.”
