According to a Brazil-based journalist in Jorge Nicola, Manchester United tried to strike down a deal for Vasco da Gama youngster Talles Magno during the last few days of the latest summer transfer window, but a move eventually failed.
Manchester United completed four signings in succession on the deadline day of the summer transfer window.
There were two known names in Alex Telles and Edison Cavani that arrived at Manchester in the dying minutes of the market.
The Red Devils also confirmed the moves for two 18-year-old prodigies in Amad Diallo Traore and Facundo Pellistri on the very day.
It has now been claimed by Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola (via Sport Witness) that Manchester United held talks with Magno.
The Mancunian club were ready to offer €15m plus €10m more in various performance-related bonuses to the 18-year-old forward last summer.
However, the deal collapsed as United never made a formal bid.
Instead, they went on to sign Facundo Pellistri from Uruguayan side Peñarol for €8.5m. Pellistri traveled to Paris but didn’t make an appearance in a 2-1 Champions League group stage win.
