Manchester United’s Facundo Pellistri hoping to secure permanent transfer to Granada

Manchester United loanee Facundo Pellistri could reportedly leave the Premier League club permanently this summer.

The 22-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Penarol in 2020 for a £7.65 million fee.

However, the Uruguayan has struggled for opportunities in Manchester, making just 24 appearances in all competitions for United.

Pellistri was sent on loan to Granada in January where he has scored once and assisted twice in seven La Liga appearances.

The Mirror claims the winger hopes to seal a permanent move to the Spanish club in the summer transfer window.

He was reportedly given assurances of a place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side when he joined the club four years ago.

According to Penarol secretary Evaristo Gonzalez, the Red Devils promised Pellistri would go straight into the first team.

He only made his debut under current manager Erik ten Hag in January last year

Granada move is unlikely

Man Utd could sell Pellistri in the summer but a move to Granada doesn’t look very likely.

The Nazaries are 19th in La Liga with just 14 points from 29 matches.

United are expected to demand more than the fee they paid for Pellistri in 2020 and Granada would be unable to afford him if they go down.

While his future at Old Trafford is uncertain, a move to the Spanish club is not expected to happen.
