Manchester United youngster Omari Forson set to sign a new contract

Manchester United youngster Omari Forson is set to sign a new contract with the club.

According to Manchester Evening News, Forson could put pen to paper on a new deal at United before the New Year.

The 19-year-old is in the final year of his current deal and can negotiate a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs in January.

The Red Devils do not want to risk losing one of their most promising attackers to another club.

Forson was included in the squad for the pre-season tour of the United States, where he started against Borussia Dortmund.

He has yet to make his competitive debut for United but was named on the bench for the Champions League games against Bayern Munich and FC Copenhagen.

The academy graduate is a winger by trade and prefers to play on the left flank, although he can also play on the opposite wing.

He has bagged an impressive tally of seven goals and two assists in eight appearances at youth level this term.

The starlet has already caught the attention of Man United boss Erik ten Hag.

The Dutchman has been ruthless recently, allowing multiple talented youngsters to leave the club. Zidane Iqbal, Charlie Savage and Ethan Laird made that list.

If Forson were not good enough, Ten Hag would have also sanctioned his exit.

After extending his contract, the Red Devils could send him out on loan in January.

Forson will still be developing his role at his age and would love to get regular minutes under his belt.

A successful loan spell is the next step for his development.
