Manchester United reportedly have at least four alternate names on their shortlist should they fail to lure Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer, claims a report from Sky Sports.
The Red Devils have had enjoyed a lacklustre transfer window so far. They have just signed one in Donny van de Beek. And it does now look as if they would end up the transfer window without making a move for a heavily-chased target in Jadon Sancho.
As said in the respective report, Dortmund had given United a chance to secure Sancho’s signing within 10th August. But United failed to submit an adequate bid to snap up the Englishman.
It is now thought that Manchester United will be going for an alternative instead as the Sancho deal seems to be a distant chase.
As the aforementioned report suggests, the likes of Ismaila Sarr, Luka Jovic and Edinson Cavani, and Ousmane Dembele are the ones United are currently considering as the alternative targets to Jadon Sancho.
Both Jovic and Cavani prefers to play in the central forward role, while Dembele and Sarr are wide forwards.
By the look of things, it seems as if United are desperate to add any sort of substance that would influence and strengthen their forward line.
Edinson Cavani, currently a free agent at 33, seems to be the only viable option, as United might be forced to pay a reasonable amount should they choose to go in for any other name on the list. Now, it is up to Manchester United board, with the transfer window set to close on 5th Oct.
