Manchester United are reportedly willing to make an offer of around £70m in order to complete the signing of Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace next summer.
The 27-year-old joined the Red Devils as Sir Alex Ferguson’s final signing as manager in January 2013 but he could manage only four appearances before sealing his return to Selhurst Park two years later.
Zaha has since transformed into one of the Premier League’s most sought-after wingers and his consistency in recent seasons has caught the attention of some of England’s top sides.
According to The Sun, the Red Devils are open to the prospect of re-signing Zaha at the end of the campaign, given the attacker himself is keen on a bigger challenge away from the Eagles.
The same outlet claims that the Mancunian giants could be prepared to pay as much as £70m to pursue the Ivory Coast international, who was on the radar of Arsenal and Everton over the summer.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side signed Aaron Wan-Bissaka from the south London outfit during the previous transfer window and that contributed towards the Eagles’ decision to keep hold of Zaha.
However, the attacker is unlikely to entertain a similar stance next summer and it remains to be seen whether he is tempted to rejoin the Red Devils after an unfruitful first stint.
Zaha has represented the Eagles in every Premier League match this season. He has produced a mixed bag of performances with just one assist to show for his efforts.
