Manchester United will have to pay £30m to sign Marcel Sabitzer permanently

Manchester United will reportedly have to pay at least £30 million to make Marcel Sabitzer’s move permanent this summer.

According to the Daily Star, Bayern Munich are now asking for a higher fee following the midfielder’s impressive displays at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils signed Sabitzer on loan after Christian Eriksen suffered a serious injury in an FA Cup match in January.

United didn’t negotiate an option to buy clause in the player’s deal, with the player reportedly valued at just £20m at that point.

Should United sign Sabitzer permanently?

Sabitzer was struggling for game time in Germany but has established himself as an important member of Erik ten Hag’s team.

He has made 13 appearances in all competitions, including eight in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old was at the top of his game in the recent 2-2 draw with Sevilla in the Europa League.

He put his side in a dominating position after scoring twice in the first half, but two late own goals scuppered United’s hopes of winning the game.

The Austria international has played over 500 minutes in the Premier League, averaging 1.4 tackles, 0.8 interceptions and 1.3 clearances per game (as per WhoCcored).

He has also made 31.6 passes per game, boasting almost 80 percent passing accuracy.

Seeing how well Sabitzer has adapted at Old Trafford, United should sign him permanently.

Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and West Ham United are also keen on the midfielder.

If the Red Devils hesitate to meet Bayern’s demands, other Premier League clubs could take advantage and complete a move for him.
