Manchester United watching Gent striker Gift Orban

Manchester United have sent scouts to watch Gent striker Gift Orban, reports the Evening Standard.

The Nigerian has been in the form of his life since joining the Belgian club from Norwegian side Stabaek in January.

The 20-year-old has bagged 19 goals in 19 games since his move to the Jupiler Pro League.

The Red Devils are not the only Premier League club interested, with Chelsea, Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur also watching him.

The Genk star has scored a goal every 75 minutes for the club and they are not looking to sell him anytime soon.

Man United want to sign a striker this summer and have been impressed with his performances.

They are keen on his compatriot Victor Osimhen, but the Napoli hitman will cost top dollar.

Genk would also want a huge fee for Orban, as he is under contract until 2027.

However, suitors may be able to get him for less than €20 million as he joined the Belgian club for only €3.3m.

Man United will want a proven hitman, but the youngster has enormous potential and they should not hesitate to take a punt on him.

He bagged five goals in the Europa Conference League and could hit the ground running in the Premier League.

Orban notched a first-half hat trick within three minutes and 25 seconds in his side’s 4-1 away win over Istanbul Basaksehir in March.

He set a new record for the fastest hat trick in UEFA club competitions, breaking the previous record of six minutes and 12 seconds held by Mohamed Salah in the Champions League.

While Orban is happy to remain with Genk before seeking a future move, turning down the Red Devils could prove impossible.

Man United could land a gem if they sign him, and they need to move quickly as other suitors will not hesitate in the summer.
