Match Preview
Manchester United
United are playing well at the moment and continued their good run of form with a win over Palace on Saturday.
Bruno Fernandes opened the scoring from the penalty spot after seven minutes before Marcus Rashford doubled United’s advantage just after the hour mark.
A red card to Casemiro midway through the second half allowed the Eagles to grow into the game and half the deficit to ensure a nervy finish to the game.
With the Brazilian midfielder now out with a suspension, Marcel Sabitzer is expected to start his first game for United on Tuesday, with Erik Ten Hag desperately short of options in midfield.
Leeds United
The visitors have endured an overall underwhelming campaign and are currently just outside the relegation zone.
They were beaten 1-0 by Forest last weekend and will perhaps feel they deserved something from the game.
Their poor run of results has prompted the dismissal of manager Jesse Marsch just under a year after his appointment.
It is yet to be determined who Leeds will hire to replace the American, although former Man United assistant manager Chris Armas could take charge of the midweek clash.
Players to watch – Sabitzer vs Adams
Both sides are fighting for points at opposite ends of the table and will undoubtedly field strong XIs.
Sabitzer signed for United on deadline day but could quickly be introduced to the starting XI after Casemiro’s suspension.
The Austrian midfielder showed glimpses of his quality against Palace last time out and will be looking to make a stronger impression this week.
Tyler Adams has been one of Leeds’ better performers this season, with the midfielder starting 18 of his side’s 20 Premier League games.
The 23-year-old has made the second-most tackles in the English top-flight this season and will be relied upon heavily on Tuesday.
