Manchester United vs Crystal Palace
English Premier League 2018/19
24th November, 15:00 pm BST
Old Trafford, Manchester

Manchester United host Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday as we look to close in on the top four and the Champions League places.

With Tottenham Hotspur hosting Chelsea in Saturday’s evening kickoff, victory for us over the Eagles would guarantee us closing the gap this weekend. It currently stands at seven points.

We had been on a good run of form with 10 points from four games and a win at Juventus, prior to the derby day defeat directly before the international break. There can be no excuses for failing to pick up three points on Saturday.

Jose Mourinho will have Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial available despite both players being listed as doubts after withdrawing from the French national team during the break. Romelu Lukaku should also be fit, though the Belgian striker hasn’t started our last couple of games.

With Luke Shaw suspended we should see captain Antonio Valencia come back in at right-back and Ashley Young move across to the left-hand side of our  defence where he played for most of last season.

Crystal Palace are without a win in their last seven Premier League matches, losing five during this run. Their only victories this season have been against the current bottom two – Fulham and Huddersfield Town.

Roy Hodgson could welcome back former United forward Wilfried Zaha who missed the defeat at Tottenham Hotspur before the international break due to injury. The Ivorian is by far and away their best player.

The Eagles have failed to score in six of their 12 Premier League matches this season so hopefully David de Gea can keep his second clean sheet of the season on Saturday. In attack, Anthony Martial has scored in five successive Premier League games for us.

Predicted Manchester United Starting Lineup (4-3-3): David De Gea; Antonio Valencia, Chris Smalling, Victor Lindelof, Ashley Young; Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera, Paul Pogba; Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial

Predicted Crystal Palace Starting Lineup (4-4-2): Wayne Hennessey; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, James Tomkins, Mamadou Sakho, Patrick van Aanholt; James McArthur, Cheikhou Kouyate, Luka Milovojevic, Max Meyer; Andros Townsend, Wilfried Zaha
