Manchester United will open the year with a clash against Bournemouth as the Premier League campaign heats up.
United are enjoying a good run of form at the moment and now sit in the top four for the first time this season.
Bournemouth have struggled to pick up points of late and are currently just three points above the relegation zone.
The two sides last faced off in a league clash in 2020 with the Red Devils running out 5-2 winners, and they will be looking to replicate that result on Tuesday.
When and where will the game take place?
After a successful trip to Molineux on New Year’s Eve, United will return to Old Trafford for the clash against the Cherries.
The game is set to be played on Tuesday night as the final Premier League match of the day.
Match Preview
Manchester United
United have come a long way since losing their first two games of the season and now look like European contenders.
After picking up their largest league win of the campaign against Nottingham Forest last week, the Red Devils picked up a hard-fought 1-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers to round off 2022 on a high.
Marcus Rashford, initially named on the bench due to disciplinary action, came off the bench to score the only goal of the game and record his third strike in as many games.
The in-form Englishman is expected to return to the starting XI this week, while a return could also be on the cards for the injured Diogo Dalot and unfit Lisandro Martinez.
Bournemouth
The Cherries endured a difficult start to their season, prompting the dismissal of manager Scott Parker.
The visitors have had mixed results ever since but have particularly struggled to perform since their return to competitive action last month.
They were beaten 2-0 by Crystal Palace in their last game, conceding both goals in the first half and failing to find their way back into the game.
Bournemouth have now lost six of their last seven Premier League matches and face an uphill task when they head to Old Trafford on Tuesday.
Players to watch – Antony vs Zemura
While United are looking to continue their strong run, Gary O’Neil’s men will be desperate to return to winning ways on Tuesday.
Antony has had a mixed start to life in Manchester but has particularly struggled to impress in his last two appearances for United. The winger has begun to come under scrutiny and will be looking to prove a point on Tuesday.
Jordan Zemura has been one of Bournemouth’s better performers this season, offering much-needed energy down the left.
The two men are very expressive players and should have an intriguing battle later this week.
