Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign the Brazilian duo from Juventus- Alex Sandro and Douglas Costa.
Both Sandro and Costa were linked to United previously. There is a genuine possibility of both the players playing for the Red Devils next seaon.
As per Italian outlet, Calciomercato, the pair is likely to cost the Red Devils in the region of £74m.
Newly-appointed boss Andrea Pirlo is ready to sell several players of his squad to raise funds for new transfers and revamp the squad.
Douglas Costa has become injury-prone in the recent past, and even when fit, he has not been the first choice for Juventus. Costa managed just seven starts and 16 appearances off the bench, scoring one goal and grabbing four assists.
United desperately need options on the wing. Jadon Sancho’s deal is stalled and United are refusing to pay £108m. The Reds identified an alternative in Costa.
Both Luke Shaw and Brandon Williams are unreliable. United are set to lose out on the battle to sign Ben Chilwell to Chelsea and have looked at Alex Sandro as his alternative.
Right-wing and left-back have proven problem positions for United. Both Costa and Sandro will be 30 shortly. It is not an ideal scenario for Solskjaer’s youth-oriented transfer policy. However, if the reports are true, United could land solutions to both at a reasonable price point.
