Manchester United to sign £34m 17-year-old under one condition

Manchester United have ‘put in place the mechanism’ to replace their superstar Paul Pogba [if he leaves] with the acquisition of Eduardo Camavinga from Rennes next summer, as reported by AS (via SportWitness).

Pogba has recently rekindled the stories of him leaving Manchester United sooner than later by claiming that he has a dream of playing for Real Madrid one day.

As reported earlier, having tried to sign Pogba three times over the recent years, Real Madrid have now lost their patience totally with the Pogba deal.

Instead, they will also go for Camavinga – whom Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane sees as an ideal replacement for Brazilian Casemiro.

Juventus were reportedly keen to acquire the 27-year-old’s signature last summer.

Stories claimed they would have lodged a bid of €100m had not the coronavirus pandemic made a drastic impact on the Italian club’s finances.

Manchester United paid Juventus a club-record breaking transfer fee of £89m in 2016 to attain the services of the French World Cup-winning midfielder.

Under the management of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Pogba has had earned 13 goals and 12 assists from 57 matches across all competitions.

Camavinga’s contract at the Ligue 1 club is set to expire in June 2022.

And having already received loads of plaudits from across the globe, the 17-year-old would likely to join a big club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

A summer move could prove to be the only way for Rennes to pocket some much-needed cash, as they have had failed in their attempt to make the starlet sign a contract renewal.

And hence, Manchester United are expected to be one of their favourites to land the highly-touted midfield maestro next summer.

He is valued at £34m
