Italian journalist Fabio Santini claims that Manchester United are interested in Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly. Koulibaly has been a long-term target for United. [source: AreaNapoli]
Santini claimed:
“Attention: I have sensational news about Kalidou Koulibaly. Manchester City and United are on the Senegalese defender as well as PSG. The club that is more serious for the Senegalese is Liverpool. The Reds offer to Napoli a figure between 70 and 75 million euros, the sum that De Laurentiis asks.”
The report further adds that Manchester City, PSG and Liverpool are set to battle the Red Devils for securing
Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed that Liverpool are in talks to sign Koulibaly -in episode seven of Here We Go Podcast.
In the summer, Napoli chief Aurelio De Laurentiis pushed for a transfer all summer. He claimed that Koulibaly will leave if the right offer comes in. He also mentioned that only City, United, and PSG have the finances to afford the deal. City made serious efforts to sign Koulibaly – but ended up landing Ruben Dias.
Santini claims that Liverpool are the most serious to sign him as their star defender Virgil van Dijk suffered a season-ending injury.
Given Liverpool and United’s rivalry, this will be an interesting story to follow up on.
