Manchester United are reportedly ready to postpone their pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho till the end of next season.
United have been chasing the signature of the English forward since the beginning of the summer.
However, United have remained unsuccessful in getting their man so far this summer and Dortmund officials are now adamant that the 20-year-old will remain in Germany for another year.
M E N understands that United are still pursuing Sancho and remain in negotiations with his and the club’s representatives, though his wages and the desired agent fees remain obstacles before discussions have even begun over the transfer fee, with Dortmund said to be demanding £108m.
United considers the Bundesliga club’s expectations unrealistic in a post-coronavirus market and, according to the Daily Mirror, they are ready to cut their losses and shelve the plan to sign the England international until next summer.
It’s claimed that United are ready to play the waiting game and are ready to walk away from talks unless all those involved reevaluate their demands.
Borussia Dortmund are under no pressure to lower their asking price as Sancho’s contract does not expire until 2023.
It’s reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to turn his attention elsewhere if the deal is not completed as United run the risk of facing competition from Chelsea, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Barcelona and PSG if they wait until next summer to sign him.
Manchester United have already begun looking for a replacement to Sancho, with Juventus winger Douglas Costa first choice for the club.
