Transfer Rumours

Manchester United to face a three-way competition for Jadon Sancho next summer

The transfer saga surrounding Jadon Sancho has dragged on for way too long and almost every day, there are different reports on the subject.

Manchester United are not prepared to go above £80 million to bring Jordan Sancho to their doorsteps. On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund are under no financial pressure to sell and believe they could get at least £100m for Sancho next summer.

Dortmund have extended the English youngster’s contract until 2023 in order to protect his value, and at the same are making speculations that Spanish rivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona will join the bidding battle next summer.

This would result in United having to indulge in a three-way bidding war in the transfer market next season unless they are willing to meet the German club’s demand for a £108 million deal.

United are likely to interpret this piece of news as a ruse to drive up their offer price for the 20-year old. They are not yet willing to offer more than what’s on the table. With the ongoing pandemic and its cynical impact on almost every club’s finances, folks at United believe £80 million to be a more than fair price to seal the deal.

Reports by The Mirror suggest that Real and Barcelona may put themselves in a position to edge out United at the end of the 2020-21 campaign. This can be a serious cause of concern for the Red Devils and they might reconsider their proposal.
