Ismaila Sarr was one of the only bright lights during Watford’s Premier League campaign last season. The Hornets were relegated last season on the last day of the campaign.
Sarr’s impressive performances for Watford have set the Premier League alight. He has earned links to English giants Manchester United and Liverpool.
English Champions Liverpool have kept an eye on Sarr for some time.
According to reliable journalist Dominic King, though Liverpool have made no bid yet, the Reds are ‘seriously’ considering the possibility of making the Senegalese international a part of the squad as a backup for their front three.
King also claims that Watford would want a fee of over £36 million for the 22-year-old.
The Independent states that United are considering Sarr as an alternative for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho. Sancho remains the number-one target for the Red Devils but the pursuit of the England international has been met with many roadblocks, there is increasing doubt over whether it will be done.
United are willing to eventually walk away and look at other options. Sarr is one of them.
United could be given a boost by Liverpool’s recent signing of midfielder Thiago Alcantara. The Reds do not possess adequate funds and will have to sell before they can spend again.
United’s failed pursuit of Sancho has left them with a void in their list, Sarr could be the one to fill it. Watford’s relegation is another boost from United’s perspective.
This move could be the one to watch out for.
