Manchester United’s recent resurgence under interim manager Michael Carrick has sparked talk of the club returning to the Champions League next season.
The Red Devils’ 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United in midweek was the first setback under Carrick, but they are still well-placed to secure a place in UEFA’s top club competition.
That result will not stop the clamour to buy Man Utd seats through HelloTickets, with five of their remaining nine games scheduled to be played at Old Trafford.
With that in mind, read on as we look at what is on the agenda during the final few weeks of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Aston Villa (H) – March 15
Man United will head into their next home game third in the table, level on points with opponents Aston Villa. Chelsea and Liverpool are three points adrift of that pair.
Unai Emery’s side were briefly in the title race, but injuries to several key players have left them looking nervously over their shoulders.
While Villa are undoubtedly capable of making life difficult, United are strongly fancied to record an invaluable victory.
Bournemouth (A) – March 20
Bournemouth have recovered from a disappointing run of results to move back onto the fringes of the race to secure European qualification.
The Cherries are unbeaten in their last five outings against United (W2, D3), and will fancy their chances of upsetting the odds on this occasion.
Although Carrick’s side have the ability to pick up three points at the Vitality Stadium, returning home with a draw would not be the worst outcome.
Leeds United (H) – April 13
Leeds United have done relatively well on their return to the Premier League, but are still in danger of being dragged into the relegation battle.
They have picked up just two points from their last four league outings, allowing some of the teams below them to close the gap.
The two sides drew 1-1 at Elland Road in early January, but the Red Devils are a good bet to add another three points to their tally here.
Chelsea (A) – April 18
In an ideal world, United will safely navigate their way to the end of the season without losing a game. However, the Premier League is rarely that simple.
The Blues have been hugely inconsistent this season, yet remain firmly in contention to secure Champions League qualification at the end of the campaign.
As with the trip to Bournemouth, a draw at Stamford Bridge would be a decent result for United.
Brentford (H) – April 27
Many pundits predicted that Brentford would be relegated after losing manager Thomas Frank, but Keith Andrews has done a solid job as his replacement.
The Bees are only four points behind fifth place with nine games to go, which makes Champions League qualification a possibility.
United were beaten 3-1 at Brentford earlier in the season, but can gain their revenge on this occasion.
Liverpool (H) – May 2
Liverpool fans have been amused by United’s fall from grace in recent years, but the current state of play has wiped the smiles off their faces.
The defending champions have failed to live up to expectations this season, despite spending a fortune on new players last summer.
United defeated Liverpool 2-1 at Anfield earlier in the season and are fancied to complete the double on their own patch.
Sunderland (A) – May 9
Sunderland have defied expectations after winning promotion to the Premier League and could feasibly end the campaign inside the top ten.
Manager Regis Le Bris has assembled a talented squad led by Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka. He is one of the signings of the season.
The Black Cats will head to Old Trafford believing they can secure a positive result, but United should record another victory here.
Nottingham Forest (H) – May 17
Nottingham Forest have become a laughing stock this season, with owner Evangelos Marinakis impatiently wading his way through several different managers.
The changes have not had the desired effect, and Forest will likely head to Old Trafford with their Premier League status hanging in the balance.
While that scenario would add greater difficulty to this fixture, United should pick up another three points.
Brighton & Hove Albion (A) – May 24
Brighton & Hove Albion have been a thorn in United’s side over the past few seasons, winning seven of their last ten meetings in all competitions.
The Seagulls have been hit and miss this term, but are still capable of turning over the top teams when everything clicks into place.
United may already have secured Champions League qualification by the time they visit the Amex Stadium, so they may be content to settle for a draw.
