Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay could reportedly be sidelined for a month following his ankle injury during the 3-1 Premier League win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
The Scotland international suffered a knock on his ankle during the Europa League clash against Partizan last week but he was able to recover from the same to make the starting XI against the Seagulls.
McTominay played through the entire 90 minutes of the Premier League clash but he unfortunately picked up a swelling on his ankle following a late challenge from Solly March in injury time.
According to The Mirror, the midfielder has had an initial scan on the problem and the reports indicate that he could be out of action for around four weeks at the least.
McTominay has been ever-present for the Red Devils in the Premier League this term and overall, only Harry Maguire has played more minutes for the club than the midfielder in all competitions.
He has also been one of the club’s consistent performers in what has been a difficult first half to the season and his absence could hamper the team, particularly with Paul Pogba sidelined with a similar ankle concern.
Pogba is unlikely to return to action until the opening week of December and either James Garner or Nemanja Matic, who is due to make his injury comeback, could partner Fred in midfield after the international break.
