Manchester United star set to be rewarded with a bumper new deal

Manchester United star Marcus Rashford is set to be rewarded with a lucrative new deal at Old Trafford, according to The Daily Star.

The England international is currently contracted to the Red Devils until 2023, with an option to extend for a further 12 months.

However, the club are eager to offer him a new long-term deal to keep him out of the hands of big European clubs as the 23-year-old’s superb performances are said to have attracted the attention of Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG.

To reflect his importance in the team, the Manchester side want to offer him a new five-year deal worth around £300,000-a-week. However, even the forward’s improved terms wouldn’t make him the highest earner at Old Trafford as Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea currently gets around £350,000-a-week, (as per The Guardian).

Rashford has been spectacular for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side this season, smashing five goals and creating five assists in 12 Premier League appearances.

The English footballer is an academy graduate of Manchester United and progressed through the youth teams of the club to make his professional debut against Midtjylland in the Europa League in February 2016.

Since then, he has racked up 234 appearances in all competitions, with 79 goals and 45 assists to his name.

The football star recently made headlines in the world after he campaigned for providing free school meals to vulnerable children in the United Kingdom.
