Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has said that he is ‘feeling good‘ after stepping up his strength and conditioning training, a month following his ankle surgery.
The Frenchman has endured a difficult campaign with the Red Devils where he has been hampered by multiple ankle injury issues, and this has restricted him to just seven league appearances.
A report earlier this month claimed that Pogba could make a surprise return for the Chelsea clash on Monday night but that certainly won’t be the case, given he has just begun with his rehabilitation.
The 26-year-old will require at least another two weeks before returning to the training field and provided there are no setbacks along the way, he could make his comeback during the middle of March.
United are scheduled to face Chelsea on the road in the forthcoming league game and they can’t afford to lose, considering they are already six points adrift of the Blues, who are occupying the final Champions League place.
Nemanja Matic will be available for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his one-game domestic suspension and the Serbian could get the nod to partner Fred in the centre of the park on Monday night.
Scott McTominay has a possible chance of making his comeback after his knee ligament injury but Solskjaer may not necessarily risk with the fitness of the Scotland international.
Elsewhere, deadline-day signing Odion Ighalo is expected to travel with the team for the crunch encounter and it remains to be seen whether he makes the starting lineup after working hard on his fitness.
