Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo was selected in the BBC team of the week by pundit Garth Crooks after his performance against Liverpool on Sunday.
The Reds scored the first goal through Luis Diaz in a dominating first half at Old Trafford.
But Bruno Fernandes inspired a comeback after the interval by looping the ball over Caoimhin Kelleher to level the scores.
Mainoo added another in the 67th minute with a superb curling finish but Mohamed Salah netted a late equaliser from the penalty spot.
The 18-year-old posted impressive statistics in Sunday’s home game, winning eight of his nine ground duels and completing two of his three dribble attempts.
The midfielder registered five tackles and an interception, while his pass accuracy was 78 percent.
Mainoo was selected in the BBC team of the week by Garth Crooks, who noted the youngster is ‘getting better with every game’.
Mainoo has consistently been performing well
Man United have had an underwhelming season and will likely miss out on Champions League qualification.
Marcus Rashford, Casemiro and Antony were expected to shine this term, but they have been hugely disappointing.
However, Mainoo has consistently delivered excellent performances, establishing himself as a key member of Erik ten Hag’s first team.
Mainoo recently made his England debut and is set to play in the upcoming European Championship in Germany.
