According to The Mirror, Manchester United are in line to hijack Chelsea’s pursuit of Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.
The Englishman has been a long term target for Frank Lampard’s side but a deal hasn’t struck due to the difference in valuation of the player by both clubs. This is where United could strike the final blow.
The Red Devils paid a similar amount of money to Leicester City for Harry Maguire and could do the same this summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to add the final pieces to his jigsaw at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old could be England’s starting left-back for years to come and hence why is demanding such a fee – again, similar to Maguire. Chilwell would fit the profile of the player Solskjaer is trying to sign at Old Trafford – youthful, homegrown and exciting.
