As per Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have reached an agreement with Porto for Alex Telles. The 27-year-old will fly into Manchester tomorrow and will have his medical.
Romano also adds that the last details still need to figure out. The club have already had an agreement with the player for a long time.
Telles’ contract at Porto expires next summer – a reason why a player of his calibre could be available as cheap as €25m. Earlier, the Red Devils denied paying the price.
Telles is a fantastic left-back in comparison to United’s rivals – Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell and Spurs’ Sergio Reguilon. He had 25 goal involvements last season in the Portuguese league.
United have has success in the past signing players from Portugal – Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani, and Bruno Fernandes most recently.
Telles will add the much-needed quality along with Aaron-Wan Bissaka from the full-back spot. Luke Shaw was supposed to be the starter when he was signed from Southampton but Shaw’s injury record made him unreliable.
Yesterday, Romano confirmed Cavani will have his medicals at United too.
We are witnessing eleventh hour action from the men in red.
